We’ve been asked what goes into our pricing and why a quality, experienced wedding DJ costs what it does.
This breaks it down to what we do for your wedding to make it Epic!
The day of the wedding we will usually have a total of 10 - 12 hours from start to finish. We always have an assistant for the DJ as well so we have 20-24 man hours on wedding day. This doesn’t include the 4 - 6 hours in the planning and preparation stage.
Before booking anyone we have the standard business operating costs that all businesses have. These include phone, marketing and advertising costs, website design and hosting costs, insurance, etc.
After booking a client we start accumulating time spent to prepare for your perfect wedding day. We provide you with an online app or program to help you plan your wedding timeline and select your music.
After you have selected your music and all of the planning questions have been answered we get to work purchasing any needed songs and compiling the various playlists. We alao prepare papers for any announcements and introductions. We also print out your timeline so we can keep everything on track during the day of the wedding. This step alone can take up to 4-6 hours
The week of the wedding we will call you and go over all of the details to make sure nothing has been overlooked. This also gives you a chance to ask any questions you might have. We also start getting any of our battery powered equipment charged and ready.
The morning on the day of the wedding we load our enclosed trailer with all of the equipment we will need along with any backup equipment.
We then arrive at the venue 2-3 hours prior to the ceremony and begin setting everything up. After getting everything set up we will change into our suit and/or dress attire. We will then check with your coordinator or contact person to make sure everything is ready and on time.
At the appropriate time we will begin the ceremony prelude music and then begin the ceremony music when everyone is ready to go. After the ceremony we play the recessional music while everyone exits the ceremony area.
We will then typically move on to the cocktail hour while pictures are being taken.
We then get the wedding party together for the introductions and line them up in the correct order. We will introduce everyone and keep moving along with the order of events for the night.
At the end of the reception we will then tear down the equipment, load everything up, drive home, unload the equipment, and put it all away the next day since we typically arrive home after midnight from most weddings.
Lastly we have the usage cost of the equipment used for a wedding. We typically bring about $30,000 worth of sound equipment for a wedding ceremony and reception. This doesn’t include the vehicle and trailer costs.
